Photograph Scottish Wildlife
Otter workshop

Spend three days on the Isle of Mull – photograph Scottish wildlife with a particular focus on wild otters with expert tuition for fieldcraft and photographic techniques. This workshop is for all skill levels and gives you hands-on experience capturing otters in their natural coastal habitats. You’ll learn how to anticipate behaviour and get a wide range of shots for your portfolio. You will also work in changing light. You will do this while keeping wildlife safe and undisturbed.
With only two participants plus guide, you get personal tuition and flexible plans tailored to tides, light, and Otter activity.
The workshop includes pre-trip advice, in-field support, transport to multiple locations, and refreshments. Accommodation and travel to Mull are your responsibility. Once here, everything is set up for a focused, hands-on wildlife photography experience.
Puffin workshop

Spend a full day photographing puffins on the Isle of May. The island has one of the UK’s largest puffin colonies. You’ll get plenty of chances to capture close-up, natural images. I guide you on how to approach the birds safely and respectfully.
We start in the fishing village of Anstruther. From there, we take a short boat trip to the island. Once on the island, I show you how to get the best shots. We cover focus, composition, and lighting. You’ll also learn how to use different angles and backgrounds to make your images stand out.
The workshop is suitable for beginners and improvers. I give hands-on advice throughout the day. You’ll learn practical skills you can use in other wildlife photography situations. There’s also time to photograph other seabirds and wildlife.
The day is structured but flexible. We move at a pace that suits your skill level. I focus on giving clear guidance while letting you work independently. By the end of the day, you’ll have new confidence in wildlife photography. You’ll also leave with a strong set of images and practical techniques you can apply again and again.
This workshop is all about making the most of your time with puffins. It’s about practical skills, memorable wildlife encounters, and capturing images you’ll be proud of.
